Accessibility
Last updated: September 25, 2026
We want everyone to be able to use Dropbear, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work: Dropbear changes often, and we keep checking as it does.
What this covers
- The Dropbear app for iPhone and iPad, including saving places from the share sheet in other apps.
- Our website, dropbearapp.com, including the pages for places people share.
- This support site, support.dropbearapp.com.
Accessibility features in the app
- VoiceOver. You can sign up, save places, browse and search your map, plan a day out, connect with friends and change settings with VoiceOver.
- Switch Control and Full Keyboard Access. On iPad, you can reach and use the app’s controls with Switch Control, and with a keyboard through Full Keyboard Access.
- Text size. The app follows the text size you set in your device’s Settings, including the larger accessibility sizes.
- Dark mode. The app follows your device’s appearance.
How we test
We last tested the whole app in September 2026, on an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 26.6.2 and an 11-inch iPad Pro running iPadOS 26.6. We used VoiceOver, larger text sizes and dark mode across the things people do in the app: signing up, saving places, browsing and searching their map, planning a day out, friends and settings. On the iPad, we also used Switch Control and Full Keyboard Access.
We last tested our websites in September 2026, with automated tools, with a keyboard, and with VoiceOver in Safari on a Mac.
Content from other sources
- Maps in the app are drawn by Apple Maps, which provides its own accessibility. The pins for your places are ours, but we don’t control how Apple Maps presents the rest of the map. Directions open in Apple Maps or Google Maps.
- Signing in with Apple or Google uses Apple’s and Google’s own screens.
- Web pages that open inside the app are shown in Safari’s in-app browser, which Apple provides with its own accessibility. Pages from other websites belong to their owners, and their accessibility is outside our control.
- Original sources — the Instagram posts, websites and map links you save from — belong to other companies, and their accessibility is outside our control.
Feedback
If something in Dropbear is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, please email us at support@dropbearapp.com. It helps to include your device and its iOS or iPadOS version, any assistive technology you use, and what you were trying to do. We aim to reply within 10 business days.
